What is the series Grimhold about?
Grimhold is a post-collapse fantasy series about a vast vertical city held together by patched magic, gang politics, exhausted healers, and stubborn hope.
When Lina, a young felinefolk girl from the lower districts, is taken in by a neutral back-alley clinic, she finds a family and a purpose. But as her magic grows, Grimhold itself begins to change. The forest beyond the walls is pressing in, the Academy is preparing mages for war, and the city’s gangs are being forced into something larger than survival.
From clinic rooms and crowded markets to battlefields, guild halls, ancient roots, and the lost truths of the world before the Collapse, Grimhold follows a city under pressure and the people trying to build something better before everything breaks.
Vol. 1: The Clinic
A street-level opening in the lower tiers of Grimhold, centred on survival, found family, healing, and the fragile safety of a back-alley clinic.
Vol. 2: Tiered Trials
Lina enters the Academy above, where magical training, class divisions, dangerous power, and the wider structure of Grimhold come into focus.
Vol. 3: Warborn Academy
The Breach changes everything. The series expands into wartime medicine, battle magic, city-wide crisis, and the first major signs of Grimhold reorganising itself.
Vol. 3.1: Breachwood
A squad is sent into the lower tiers of Grimhold to seal a breach where stone gives way to roots and spores. They are not heroes. They are soldiers, mages, and cutthroats, ordered to hold the line, carry the wounded, and survive long enough to get home.
Vol. 4: Craggyrock
Medicine becomes power. Alchemy, scarce resources, Glowcap, civic control, and moral compromise push Grimhold’s systems towards breaking point.
Vol. 5: Where We Take Root
Gangs become guilds. The city gathers itself. Grimhold turns outwards into ancient histories, outward expansion, and full-scale war beyond the walls.
